PHNOM PENH — A planned tribunal to try leaders of the Khmer Rouge regime is likely to start in mid-2005, a senior Cambodian official said Friday.

"Once a sufficient budget is secured for the first year and pledges are made available for the following two years, then this court will start in mid-2005," said Sean Visoth, executive secretary of the government's Khmer Rouge tribunal task force. (Kyodo News)
