Honors College Speakers Series - Buried Secrets: Truth and Human Rights in Guatemala

The Honors College at Rutgers-Newark is glad to announce the second of a series of lectures offered this year on the topics of genocide, human rights, and transitional justice. Our next speaker will be Dr. Victoria Sanford of Lehman College-CUNY. Dr. Sanford will be speaking on the topic, "Buried Secrets: Truth and Human Rights in Guatemala," in the Dana Room of the Dana Library at 2:30 PM on December 8, 2005. Further information on Dr. Sanford's topic and a brief biographical sketch may be found below. All students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of Rutgers-Newark are invited and encouraged to attend, so please spread the word to those that you think might wish to hear Dr. Sanford's talk.

This series has been put together through the efforts of Professor Alex Hinton of the R-N Department of Sociology and Anthropology, who also is teaching the Honors College senior seminar on transitional justice this year as well as serving as the Director for the Documentation Center - Cambodia (DC-Cam) Archives that are housed on the Rutgers-Newark campus. Support for this series has been provided by the Rutgers-Newark Alumni Association through the assistance of the Rutgers Foundation.
